Roy Eugene “Gene” Garner, 83, of Hanover, Pennsylvania, died Monday, August 11, 2008 at Hanover Hall Nursing Home in Hanover.
Born May 26, 1925 in Taneytown, Maryland, he was the son of the late Roy B. and Bertha (Buffington) Garner.
He worked 25 years for the H.A.R.T. Packaging Center in New Oxford, PA.
He is survived by a brother, John Garner of Taneytown; four nephews, Steve, Barry, Andy and Mike Garner of Taneytown; and good friends and caregivers, Carl and Charlene “Peach” Fuhrman of Hanover, PA. He was predeceased by brothers Donald and Fred Garner.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, August 15, 2008 at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown, MD with the Rev. Nicholas Brie officiating. Interment will follow in the Trinity Lutheran Church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Myers Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 East Baltimore Street, Taneytown.
