Taneytown

Rose Diane Hale, 77, of Taneytown died unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at her home.  Born August 24, 1943 in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late William and Cassie (Hubble) Martin.  She was the wife of the late Dennis R. Hale.

Rose was a graduate of Mergenthaler High School in Baltimore, class of ‘61.  She earned a license in Cosmetology from Mergenthaler that year, and worked as a hairdresser for many years following.  She also earned a manager’s license in cosmetology, a real estate license, and later worked at Giant Foods, where she was second person in charge of the bakery.  Her greatest joy in life was being with her grandchildren.  She especially enjoyed watching her grandsons play ball.

Surviving are her children, Aaron Boggs and wife Teresa of Taneytown, and daughter, Sandy Hawkins and husband Tim Stotsky of Hanover, PA; step-daughter, Heather Hill of Hanover, PA; sister, Delores Mitzel and husband Charles of Baltimore; grandchildren, Timothy Hawkins, Jr. and wife Brittney, Tyler Hawkins, and Cordell Boggs and wife Makenzie; great-grandchildren, Ava and Brylee, and Bentley, who is to arrive soon; as well as many nieces and nephews.  Rose was predeceased by her first husband, Charles Boggs, Jr. in 1973, and her late husband, Dennis Hale in 2012.  She was also predeceased by her siblings, Herbert Jamerson, Irene Kemp, Evelyn Wilhelm, and Gerald Jamerson; and step-grandson, Brian Blank, Jr.

Services are private.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home in Taneytown, MD.
