Rosalie Mae Halter, age 88, of Taneytown, MD, died peacefully Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at the home of her son. Born June 9, 1923 in Taneytown, she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Marie Eckenrode Reaver. She was the wife of the late Charles L. Halter, her husband of 64 years, who died in August, 2007.
She worked for many years at Cambridge Rubber Company in Taneytown and subsequently, for several years with ARC of Carroll County. She was a communicant of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Taneytown.
Surviving are son, William Halter and companion, Eileen Hively, of Taneytown; sister, Ann Coughlin of Biglerville, PA; and nephews, Jeff Reaver & wife, Elizabeth, of Biglerville, PA, and Randy Reaver of New York City.
A mass of Christian burial will be held 11 a.m. Friday, February 17, 2012 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 44 Frederick St., Taneytown, MD, with the Rev. Gerard Steffener as celebrant. Interment will follow in the St. Joseph Church Cemetery. There will be no visitation or viewing. A reception will be held in the church social hall following the services.
