Ronald Monroe “Ronnie” Hare, 75, of Manchester, MD, died on Thursday, September 8, 2022 at University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore. Born January 14, 1947 in Hampstead, MD, he was the son of the late Clarence and Mary (Calp) Hare. He was the husband of the late Arlene (Stonesifer) Hare.
Ronnie was a bricklayer, and worked for several area companies throughout his career. He was a life member of the Hampstead Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed volunteering at the Hampstead Fire Company carnival each year and regularly supported the activities of the Lineboro Fire Company. He loved dogs, and enjoyed watching old movies and TV programs. He was his wife Arlene’s faithful caregiver prior to her passing in 2016.
He is survived by daughter, Martha Cole (Philip) of Manchester; step-son, Richard Yingling (Christine) of Westminster; step-daughter, Leona Menchey of Baltimore; 10 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife Arlene, he was predeceased by daughter, Wanda McMillen, granddaughter, Bethany Shay Green, and brothers, Paul, William, and Gary Hare.
A celebration of Ronnie’s life will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, September 24, 2022 at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St, Taneytown, MD, with Pastor Rodney Gross officiating. The family will receive friends from 3 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be private.
Memorial donations in Ronnie's name may be made to the Hampstead Volunteer Fire Company Building Fund, P.O. Box 231, Hampstead, MD 21074, or to the local animal shelter of your choice.
