Ronan Michael Hughes, 44, of Taneytown, MD died peacefully Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at his home. Born November 10, 1968 in Hyattsville, MD, he was the son of Patrick and Rita Hughes of Hampstead. He was the husband of Elizabeth “Beth” Hughes.
Ronan was a graduate of the University of Maryland where he earned a degree in Economics. He was an underwriter for Citi Mortgage. He loved playing golf and was a former club pro in Bowie, MD. He also enjoyed target shooting and was a member of the Littlestown Fish & Game Club.
Surviving in addition to his wife and parents are son, Conor Michael Hughes of home; sister, Katherine Hughes of Hampstead; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Paul and Mary Herbert of Sumter, SC; best friend, John Clark of Springfield, VA; and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, January 7, 2013 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 44 Frederick St., Taneytown, MD with Monsignor Martin E. Feild as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Church Cemetery.
