Ronald “Ron” Martin, of Fairfield, PA, passed away after a month long battle with COVID-19, on Wednesday, June 8th at Chambersburg Hospital.
Ron was a dedicated Christian man, a faithful and loving husband, the best father in the world, and a dedicated grandfather, “Poppy”, to 3 wonderful grandchildren.
Ron and his loving wife Joanne loved to travel and took many trips to New England, took their grandchildren to Disney World, drove across the country, and always went back for many visits to the Great Smokey Mountains.
He is preceded in death by his 2 brothers as well as his mother and father.
Ron spent his life as an electrician and retired from the Washington Area Transit Authority 10 years ago.
More than that, he was Mr. Fix It! Ron never met a lawnmower he couldn’t fix, a problem he couldn’t find a creative solution for, or a car that wouldn’t run!
Ron was a very dedicated servant of the Lord and attended church services regularly, taught Sunday school classes with his wife, and even went on a Missions trip to Zimbabwe in 2012 to help build a church and minister to the people.
Services for Ron will be held Tuesday, June 21st at 11am, at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore Street, Taneytown, MD 21787.
In lieu of flowers, please send a donation to the local charity of your choice in Ron’s name.
