Roland Donald Krug, 77, of Taneytown, Maryland died suddenly on Thursday, June 26, 2008 at Carroll Hospital Center.
Born December 18, 1930 in Taneytown, he was the son of the late Arthur B. Krug and Mary C. Forney Krug. He was the husband of Mary Christine Stover Krug, his wife of 54 years.
He was employed as an auto mechanic at Crouse Ford Sales in Taneytown for 41 years, retiring in 2006. He was a veteran, having served in the United States Army in Korea. He was a member of American Legion, Hesson Snyder Post 120 in Taneytown. He enjoyed working in his garden, visiting the Utz Potato Chip factory and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Surviving in addition to his wife is son, Michael K. Stover of Taneytown; granddaughter Jennifer Keller and husband, Dustin of Taneytown; great grandchildren, Tristan Stover and Chase Keller; sister-n-law, Delores Krug of Union Bridge; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by all four of his siblings; G. Harry Forney, Helen C. Eyler, Richard B. Krug and Ralph C. Krug.
A funeral service will be held at 11am Monday, June 30, 2008 at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 East Baltimore St., Taneytown, Maryland with the Rev. Nicholas Brie officiating. Interment will follow in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9pm on Sunday, June 29. American Legion, Hesson Snyder Post 120, will conduct a service at the funeral home at 7pm Sunday.
