Rodney Gene Hutzell, age 44, of Fairfield, PA, died Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. Born January 3, 1968 in Washington County, MD, he was the son of Loretta Carbaugh Shorb and the late Roscoe A. Hutzell.
He was self-employed as owner/operator of Rodney’s Caulking. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He was an active member of Tom’s Creek United Methodist Church. Rodney was full of life and always had a smile.
Surviving in addition to his mother are step-father, Thomas Shorb, Sr. of Fairfield, PA; brothers, John Hutzell and wife, Tammy, of Gettysburg, PA and Thomas Shorb, Jr. of Fairfield, PA; nieces & nephew, Kirsten Hutzell of Gettysburg, PA, and Kala & Thomas Shorb, III of Fairfield, PA; as well as special friend, Lynn Fraley.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, February 20 at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 210 West Main St., Emmitsburg, MD with the Rev. Chris Suerdieck officiating. Interment will follow at Emmitsburg Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
