Robert M. "Pooch" Stouter

Robert Melvin “Pooch” Stouter, age 73, of Emmitsburg, Maryland, died peacefully on Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at his home.
Born July 25, 1936 in Emmitsburg he was the son of the late Melvin Francis and Carrie (Turner) Stouter. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 35 years, Frances Hahn (Holton) Stouter.
Pooch was a member of the Friends Creek Church of God. He loved cutting wood, and spending time in the woods surrounded by nature. He enjoyed spending time with family and loved his pet dog “Twinkie”.
Surviving in addition to his wife are step-daughter, Thelma Strausbaugh and husband Melvin of Fairfield; brothers, Wilber Stouter and wife Grace and Sterling Stouter and wife Ellen both of Emmitsburg; step-grandchildren, Angie Strausbaugh, Robin Stratton, Lemuel Kindle, and Bobby Kindle; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a sister, Ruby Hurley and by a step-granddaughter, Lesa Zani.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 23, 2010 at the Friends Creek Church of God, 7650 Friends Creek Rd., Emmitsburg with Bishop William Parks officiating. Interment will follow in the Friends Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family to help with final expenses.
Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home in Emmitsburg is in charge of the arrangements.
