Robert William “Bill” Snyder, age 68, of Taneytown, Maryland, died suddenly Tuesday evening, April 15, 2008 at his home.
Born February 20, 1940 in Emmitsburg, Maryland, he was the son of the late Jeremiah W. and Lena A. Angell Snyder.
Prior to retirement, Bill was employed by David Wantz Electric, Westinghouse and Cambridge Rubber Factory. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and bowling.
He is survived by son & daughter-in law, Alan & Patty Snyder of Littlestown, PA; daughter & son-in-law Shari & Mike Braucht of Aaronsburg, PA; step-daughter & step-son-in-law Donna & Dann Mertz of Millmont, PA; sisters & brothers-in law, Carrie Andrew, Rebecca & John Warner, and Shirley & Richard Wilson, all of Taneytown; brothers and sisters-in-law, Clarence “Mo” & Janice Snyder of Thurmont, MD, Thomas & Darlene Snyder of Westminster, MD, Roland & Wendy Snyder of Taneytown, MD; six grandchildren, Michelle & Michael Snyder, Brian Feeser & wife Jen, Matthew Orndorf, and Brandon & Ashley Braucht; five step-grandchildren, Stacey Walter, Dawn Williamson, Edward Johnson, Jr., Amanda & Adrian Braucht; two great-grandchildren, eight step-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by brothers Donald & Larry Snyder and step-great-grandchild Suzan Walter.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 19, 2008 at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown, MD with Deacon Charles E. Barnhart, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Taneytown. Pallbearers will be grandsons Brian Feeser, Michael Snyder & Brandon Braucht and nephews Eddie & John Andrew and Jerry Wilson. The family will receive friends on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
