Robert Harold “Bob” Green, 69, of Taneytown died Thursday, May 2, 2013 at Carroll Hospice Dove House in Westminster after a courageous battle with cancer. Born March 17, 1944 in Winfield, he was the son of Howard A. Green, Sr. and Catherine L. Snyder Green of Taneytown. He was the husband of Janet “Honey” Zentgraf Green, his wife of 48 years.
Bob worked many years in the clothing manufacturing industry and was working as a self-employed sub-contractor for Evapco, Inc. in Taneytown at the time of his death. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving from 1965 to 1967 in South Korea. Bob loved, and was known for, his cooking, gardening, antique cars, and entertaining family and friends. He was an member of the Church of the Open Door in Westminster.
Surviving in addition to his wife and parents are sons, Glenn R. Green and wife Kristine of Littlestown, PA, and Garrett H. Green and wife Amy of Taneytown; brothers, Howard A. Green, Jr. and wife Doris, Ralph E. Green and wife Connie, and Shellman T. “Punkie” Green, all of Taneytown; grandchildren, Ethan and Emily Green of Littlestown, PA, and Kaylee and Nathan Green of Taneytown; as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 6, 2013 at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St, Taneytown, MD with the Rev. Dr. E. Ray Shutt of the Church of the Open Door in Westminster officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends Sunday, 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
