Robert “Bob” Dale Davidson, age 79 of Mayberry, peacefully entered into God’s eternal care on Thursday September 16, 2010 at Carroll Hospice Dove House in Westminster. He was born February 23, 1931 in Jeannette, PA the son of the late Alexander and Mae Errett Davidson. He was the stepson of the late Mildred Kaufman Davidson. He was the husband of Mary Louise Brown Davidson, his wife of 55 years.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving from 1951-1955 during the Korean War. Upon leaving the Navy, Robert worked as a draftsman until his retirement in 1997. Following his retirement, he drove a school bus for the Carroll County School System, until September 2009. Robert played football for Jeannette High School, Jeannette, PA and his enjoyment of sports continued through the end of his life. He was also an avid fisherman and gardener. He was very active in his church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (LDS), Westminster Ward. He was a member of Hesson-Snider Post #120 American Legion in Taneytown and a former member of the Mayberry Gun Club.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Nancy Westfall an Air Force veteran of Taneytown, Lisa Conklin of Gettysburg, PA and Paul Davidson, a Navy veteran of Bristow, VA; grandchildren, David and Alexander Westfall and Nathan Conklin as well as nieces, Kathi Ponzetti, an Army veteran and Donna Ponzetti of Delmont, PA.

The family will receive friends 1 pm to 4 pm and 7 pm to 9 pm on Friday Sept. 17th at the LDS Chapel located at 595 Johahn Drive in the Greens, Westminster.
A funeral service will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Mormon) Chapel at 1:00 pm on Saturday Sept. 18th with Bishop Daniel Nerenberg conducting and Bruce Dean, First Counselor presiding.
Interment with military honors will follow in Baust Church Cemetery on Old Taneytown Road in Westminster.
Arrangements are by the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home in Westminster.
