Rita Lee (Swartz) Oswald

Rita L. Oswald, 73, of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania died peacefully on Friday, June 21, 2019 at Transitions Health Care Gettysburg.

Born on November 5, 1945 in Lewistown, PA, she was the daughter of the late Norman M. Swartz, Sr. and Lottie M. (Willow) Swartz.

Rita retired as a deli worker with Giant Foods in Gettysburg after many years.  She attended Freedom Valley Church in Gettysburg and in recent years enjoyed watching baseball and golf.  She dearly loved her pet cat Benny.

She is survived by brother, Norman M. Swartz, Jr. of Emmitsburg; sister, Darlene J. Koontz and husband Ken of Emmitsburg; and several nieces, nephews, and close friends.  She was the wife of Roger A. Oswald.

She was predeceased by a sister and brother-in-law, Velma and Earl Weaver; and by sister-in-law, Ruth Swartz.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 27, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. from the MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, 210 W. Main St., Emmitsburg.  Burial will follow in the Emmitsburg Memorial Cemetery.
