Rita Lechelle Brown, 55, of Westminster, passed away on Monday, August 23, 2021 at BridgingLife Dove House in Westminster. Born March 15, 1966 in Westminster, she was the daughter of Mildred (Warfield) Stambaugh (husband Lester) of Gettysburg, PA, and the late William C. Brown.
Rita was a graduate of Francis Scott Key High School, class of ’83. She was a nursing assistant and caregiver for several years. She was a member of Union Street United Methodist Church in Westminster, where she served as an usher and as a member of the Hospitality Committee. Rita enjoyed cooking, reading, going to church, listening to music, and spending time with her family and friends. She was a fan of the Baltimore Ravens and Orioles.
Surviving, in addition to her mother, are sons, LaBradford Brown and wife Amanda, and Kai Stuckey, all of Taneytown; brothers, Kevin Brown and wife Hazel, Irving, Malcolm, Don, and Mark Brown; sister, Lisa Hahn; grandchildren, Jaydyn, Andre, and Landyn Brown; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Rita is also remembered by her significant other, Kenneth Brogden. In addition to her father, she was predeceased by grandparents, Henrietta and Walter Warfield; brothers, William C. Brown Jr. and Tyrone Brown; and sister, Trina A. Costley.
A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday, August 30, 2021 at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 91 Willis St., Westminster, MD. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
