Richard "Rick" Watson

Richard Allen “Rick” Watson, age 71, died suddenly at his home Thursday, April 4, 2024. Born, May 4, 1952, in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Cline A. and Clara M. Watson. He was the loving husband of Robin Leigh Watson with whom would have celebrated 45 years on April 6th.

Rick was a retired Firefighter for the Baltimore City Fire Department. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, watching Ravens and Orioles games, but most of all he loved being “Pappy” to his 9 grandchildren.

Besides his wife Robin he is survived by his daughters, Jennifer Leigh Smith and husband Dennis of Hanover, PA and Jamie Renee Albright of Littlestown, PA; grandchildren, Kayleigh, Ethan, Megyn, Bryleigh, McKenna, Axl, Addisyn, Emersyn and Elijah; brothers, Paul A. and Michael C. Watson and sister, Barbara “Annette” Richard.

He is predeceased by his son, Justin William Cline Watson and sister, Jearlene Hickman.

A funeral service will be held at, Myers-Durboraw funeral home, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown MD, on Friday, April 12, 2024, at 12 p.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will follow the service at St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery in Uniontown, MD. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be sent to  Robin Watson, 226 Church St., Hanover PA.
