Richard “Rick” E. Meile, age 57, of Westminster, Maryland died unexpectedly on Friday, August 7, 2015 at his home.
Born October 14, 1957 in Baltimore County, Maryland, he was the son of Carol Sue (Aronholt) Meile of Manchester, and the late Elmer George Meile.
Rick was a proud and patriotic veteran of the U.S. Air force, serving from 1975-79 in Hawaii and the Philippines.  He worked for almost 30 years for Thomas, Bennett, and Hunter Concrete, Inc. in Westminster as a concrete truck driver/deliverer.  He was a graduate of North Carroll High School, class of 1975, and a member of the McSherrystown Moose and Littlestown Eagles.  He was an active member of the V.F.W. Post 467 Westminster serving as an officer of the Men’s Auxiliary and currently served as Senior Vice Commander; also a member of the Carroll Post #31 of the American Legion in Westminster, serving as a former officer.  He loved working in his garden, riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, Wed. night pool league VFW; and was known as a great mechanic and “jack-of-all-trades”.
Surviving in addition to his mother, are triplet children, Chelsi Devilbiss and husband Matthew of Taneytown, Cody Meile and wife Ashley of Hanover, PA, and Troy Meile of New Windsor; granddaughters, Sophia and Ava Meile; sisters, Susan Mercer of Glenville, PA, Laura Jo Meile of Hilton Head Island, S.C., and Fran Hanyok and husband Dave of Westminster; fiancée, Mary Martin of Westminster; step-son, Nick Bull of Westminster; former spouse, Tamie Fitzgerald of New Windsor; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 12, 2015 from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. at the MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, 91 Willis St., Westminster, MD.  A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 13th at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Deacon Charles E. Barnhart, Jr. officiating.  A reception will follow at the V.F.W. social hall.  Burial will follow at a later date in Garrison Forest Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Owings Mills, MD.
