Richard Albert Vaughn, age 83, of Emmitsburg, Maryland died on Saturday morning May 10, 2014 at the Gettysburg Hospital.
Born February 9, 1931 in Emmitsburg, he was the son of the late Robert Vaughn and Grace Mable (Sheeley) Vaughn.
He retired as a construction worker from Gettysburg Construction Company. He loved flower gardening, and was well known in the Emmitsburg area for his beautiful gardens and manicured yard. He was a lifelong resident of Emmitsburg and was known as a gentleman and hardworker his whole lifelong.
He is survived by his only sister, Virginia G. Vaughn of Emmitsburg.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 14, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. at the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 210 W. Main St., Emmitsburg, MD with Rev. Jon R. Greenstone officiating. Burial will follow in the Emmitsburg Memorial Cemetery.
