Richard Glenn Vanlaningham

Richard Glenn “Dick” VanLaningham, age 75, of Randallstown, died on Sunday morning, December 30, 2007 at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore.
Born September 14, 1932 in Lincoln, Nebraska, he was the son of the late Harold LeRoy and Grace Elizabeth (Oswald) VanLaningham.
He had worked as a staff member of the Lord Baltimore Hotel in Baltimore. Richard loved to travel with his parents to various sites in the U.S. and to go on cruises. During the 1970’s he developed a special interest as a C-B radio operator. In retirement, he was an avid photographer, and loved to provide movies and music for social functions at the apartment complex where he lived. He also enjoyed tinkering with video and computer technology.
Surviving are brother and sister-in-law Robert E. and Elizabeth J. VanLaningham of Hagerstown, MD; sisters, Marjorie E. Wenzel of Annapolis, MD, Carole J. Streett of Port St. Lucie, Florida; nephews and nieces, John R. Frazier, E. Suzan Miller, David Streett, Steven Streett, Diane L. Croson, Donna Schaefer, Michael Streett, Kim Meyers, and Gayle A. Schreiber. Great-nephews and nieces, Rob Frazier, Betsy Hamer, Rachel Schaefer, Carey Schaefer, Stacey Schaefer, Kelly Meyers, Patrick Meyers, Paul Streett, Lauren Streett, Wesley Streett, Clinton Streett, Alexandra Croson, Matthew Croson, Zachary Schreiber, Zane Schreiber, and Zoe Grace Schreiber. Great-great nieces and nephews, Katharine Frazier, Cole Iampieri, Charlotte Frazier, and Hunter Hamer.
Also surviving are devoted friends, Bill Grace, Robert and Barbara Martin, Janet Kline, David Hamer, Linda Merrick, Jan Schnaper, and Bill Miller.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 4, 2008, from the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 91 Willis St., Westminster, with the Rev. Anne C. Durboraw officiating. Interment will follow in Lakeview Memorial Park in Sykesville, MD. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 3-7 PM at the funeral home.
