Richard "Dick" H. Tracey

Richard “Dick” Howard Tracey, age 56, of Taneytown, Maryland, died suddenly early Saturday morning, November 15, 2008 at the Carroll Hospital Center in Westminster, MD.
Born March 23, 1952 in Gettysburg, PA, he was the son of Mary Louise (Sharrer) Tracey of Taneytown, and the late Myron Russell Tracey, who passed away in 1992. He was the husband of 28 years to Dianne C. (Stebbings) Tracey.
Dick owned and operated until his recent retirement, Tracey Construction Company, and was a homebuilder and remodeler in the area for many years. He loved coaching kids’ sports, especially softball and baseball. Dick was an assistant coach with the FSK Softball Program, and was active with the Taneytown Little League and the Taneytown Rec Council. He was an avid golfer and played in the Men’s Industrial Golf League at South Hills Golf Club in Hanover, PA. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Taneytown.
Surviving in addition to his wife and mother, are children; Tisha Tracey of Taneytown, Meagan and husband Tim Gearhart of Westminster, and Kyle Tracey of Taneytown; siblings, James M. Tracey, Gerald “Jerry” R. and wife Zelda Tracey of Orlando, Florida, Randy L. Tracey of Taneytown, and Barry “Pete” and wife Kristin Tracey of Taneytown. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
He was pre-deceased by a brother, Robert Michael Tracey in 1993.
A Prayer Service will be held at 11:00 AM, on Tuesday, November 18, 2008 at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown with Msgr. Martin F. Feild officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery in Taneytown. The family will receive friends on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the funeral home.
