Richard Sterling Sterner

Richard Sterling Sterner, 72, of Manchester, Maryland, died on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at the University of Maryland Hospital in Baltimore.

Born on March 3, 1946 in Hanover, PA, he was the son of the late Sterling John and Arlene May (Bortner) Sterner.  He was the husband of 44 years to Bonnie Jean (Rose) Sterner.

Richard was a member of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Manchester.  He retired in 2013 as a machinist from Western Industrial Company in Hampstead.  He loved camping and watching tractor pulls.

Surviving in addition to his wife are son Chris Eugene Sterner and fiancée Courtney Lynn Martin of Manchester; granddaughter, Hannah Sterner; brothers, Edward Sterner and wife Bonita and David Sterner both of Hampstead; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Monday, April 23, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of a Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 3184 Church St., Manchester, MD, with the Rev. Charles Marshall officiating.  Burial will be private at a later date.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME in Westminster.
