Richard Anthony Kowalski, 76, of Taneytown, MD, died peacefully on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at Carroll Hospice Dove House in Westminster, surrounded by his loving family. Born April 8, 1940 in Boston, MA, he was the son of the late Cornell and Sophie (Matulewicz) Kowalski. He was the devoted husband of Nancy (Smith) Kowalski, to whom he was married for 53 years.
Richard was a Reliability Engineer with ARINC, where he was employed for nearly 35 years. He was a member of the IEEE. He was a life-long drum corps fan, played the snare drum, and was a color guard member. He was also a member of the Carroll Vista Travel Club, Scrabble Club, and Book Club.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are son, Mark Kowalski and wife Pamela of Gettysburg, PA; grandchildren, Matthew and Daniel Kowalski; and sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Eileen and Al Romano of Las Vegas, NV.
A memorial service to celebrate Richard’s life may be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Carroll Hospice Dove House, 292 Stoner Ave., Westminster, MD, 21157. Arrangements have been entrusted to MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME in Taneytown, MD.
