Raymond Spicer

Raymond Spicer August 26, 1937 – November 10, 2023

Raymond “Rex” Spicer of Silver Run, MD lived 86 years building a beautiful legacy with the love of his life, Dorothy “Ruth” Spicer, wife of 66 years.

He was the beloved son of the late Rixie & Jean Spicer and beloved son-in-law of the late August & Dorothy Loetz.

He is father to Raymond and Sue Spicer, Juanita and TJ Higley, David and Kim Spicer, Lillian and Joe Ebaugh, Richard and Andrea Spicer, Yvonne & Donnie Koontz, Vicki and the late George Prager with 21 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and a fifth generation due in December.

Ray was an entrepreneur of SJL, Inc. for nearly forty years who loved God and fighting for what you believe in. He was an Army veteran and a member of Eagles & Elks Clubs.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 16, 2023, at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown, MD, from 6 to 8 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, November 17, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor David Scafide officiating. Interment will follow the service at Keysville Union Cemetery, where he will be placed alongside his parents-in-law.
