Raymond “Butch” F. Harbaugh, Jr., age 46, of Emmitsburg, Maryland, died on Tuesday, June 10, 2008 at Providence Hospital in Washington, D.C.
Born September 14, 1961 in Fort Carson, Colorado, he was the son of the late Raymond and Jessee (Caulder) Harbaugh. He was the loving husband of Cathy (Eiker) Harbaugh.
Butch attended Catoctin High School in Thurmont, Maryland, and St. John’s United Church of Christ in Sabillasville, Maryland. He was a friend and previously a longtime employee of Larry McIntyre with Centerline Construction Co., of Urbana, MD. He was currently employed with C. T. Construction in Frederick, as a heavy equipment operator. Mr. Harbaugh loved and enjoyed his little dog Daisy, and his nieces and nephews. He also enjoyed going to the Emmitsburg Auction, fishing, and was a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and NASCAR.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a step-son, Steven Norris and his fiancée Tara Ridenour of Emmitsburg; sisters and brothers-in-law, Brenda and Brad Williams of Webster Springs, W.Va, Shirley and Mark George of Emmitsburg, and Susan and Pete Smith of Middleburg, MD.
Also surviving are many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by an uncle, Robert L. Harbaugh.
Raymond will be sadly missed by his family and many friends and his little dog Daisy.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, June 17, 2008 at St. John’s United Church of Christ, 16923 Sabillasville Rd. (Rt. 550) in Sabillasville, MD with his pastor the Rev. Janet I. Comings officiating. Private inurnment will be held at a later date in the Emmitsburg Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 210 W. Main St., Emmitsburg and on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the church.
