Raymond Leonard Cool

August 12, 1940 — June 14, 2014

Raymond Leonard Cool, 73, of Emmitsburg, died Saturday, June 14 at Frederick Memorial Hospital.  He was a resident at Northampton Nursing Center in Frederick for the past three years.

Born August 12, 1940 in Frederick, Maryland, he was the son of the late Ethel Grave Cool.  He was also predeceased by his dear brother, John Francis Cool in 1997 and his aunt, Sr. Angela Cool, D.C. in 2014.  He is survived by his cousin, Mary Jo Albright of Seminole, FL, as well as a host of friends.

Mr. Cool worked in a local factory, and helped out with various handyman jobs.  He will also be remembered for his work at the Seton Center Outreach and Thrift Shop in Emmitsburg.

Long-time resident of Emmitsburg, Mr. Cool had many friends who enjoyed his quiet, kind and friendly manner.  He was interested in all of his friends, and he could carry on a conversation about anything.  Above all, he was car enthusiast and loved to talk about classic cars.  Mr. Cool will be especially missed by friends:  Sr. Mary Kevin Callahan, Chata Carr, Sr. Carol Durkin, Jim & Jeanne Kuhn, Joey Pastorett, Chris Price, Denise Sauvageau, Bobby Ott and all his friends at the Ott House, where he enjoyed his daily evening meal for many years.  And, special thanks to all of his wonderful caregivers at Northampton Nursing Center.

Friends may call on Tuesday, June 17, 2014 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 210 W. Main Street, Emmitsburg, Md.  Graveside services and interment will follow at 11:15 a.m. in the Emmitsburg Memorial Cemetery.

Contributions to the Seton Center Outreach & Thrift Shop may be made in honor of Mr. Cool, 16840 S. Seton Ave., Emmitsburg, Md. 21727.
