Raymond Dewitt Bloom, Jr., 81, of Manchester, passed away peacefully at the Hanover Hospital on Monday, April 8, 2024. Born October 13, 1942 in Westminster, he was the son the late Raymond Dewitt Bloom, Sr., and Mildred Mitchell Bloom. He was raised by his grandfather James Clayton Bloom and lived with his cousins, Carl, Jim, Calvin, Kenny, and Sharon. He was the husband of the late Nancy Colene Bloom, nee Itnyre.
Mr. Bloom is survived by his children Raymond Dewitt Bloom, III and his wife Barbara, of Hanover, PA, Robert Markwood Bloom of Manchester, and Deborah Lynn Bloom of Hanover, PA; his siblings Ralph Oscar Bloom of Martinsburg, WVa, and Judith Ann Johns and her husband Leroy of Hanover, PA; his 5 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren. He predeceased by his granddaughter Amanda Nicole Geyer and his 7 brothers and sisters.
He worked for Maryland Cup for 40 years as a machinist. After retiring from Maryland Cup, he drove a tractor and trailer and then was a bus driver for the Arc of Carroll County and F&S Transportation, where he was affectionately known as Mr. Ray.
The family will receive friends 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Monday, April 15, 2024 at MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, P.A., 91 Willis Street, Westminster (21157) where the funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. with Pastor Ed Brower officiating.
