Ralph Edward Dubs, Sr.

Ralph Edward Dubs, Sr., 84, of Hampstead, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 12, 2023, at his home. Born February 5, 1939, he was the son of the late John Levi Dubs and Elizabeth Mae Dubs, nee Hilker. He was the loving husband to Edna Catherine Dubs, nee Flickinger, to whom he was married to for 66 years.

He was a Machinist for Black and Decker and later for Langston Steel. He enjoyed building with wood, and working with metal and wood working machines and motors. He liked being on the computer and Ham Radio.

Surviving in addition to his wife, are children, Rose Lockard and husband Jesse, Bobbie Sue Barnhart and husband Brian, and Sandra Lyn Sumey and husband Allen; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; brothers “Mose” Clarence Dubs and Melvin Dubs; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Ralph E. Dubs, Jr.; and brothers, Ivan “Buck” Dubs and Ray Earl Dubs.

The family will receive friends from 1 – 2 pm on Wednesday, July 19, 2023, at the MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, P.A., 91 Willis Street, Westminster, Maryland 21157. A funeral service will begin at 2 pm at the funeral home with Pastor James Crocker officiating. Interment will be private.
