Ralph Edward Dubs Jr., 55, of Taneytown, MD, died Sunday, November 8, 2015 at his home following an eight-month battle with cancer. Born June 4, 1960 in Gettysburg, PA, he was the son of Ralph and Edna (Flickinger) Dubs, Sr. of Hampstead.
Ralph was an HVAC technician for Modern Comfort in Westminster for more than 30 years. He enjoyed playing the guitar, banjo, and hammer dulcimer, camping, fishing, and cooking, especially with his smoker. He collected lighthouse figurines, collected and repaired antique clocks, and created a variety of stained glass works. Ralph was a Boy Scout leader for many years. He participated in Civil War and Revolutionary War re-enactments. He was a member of the Handyman Club of America, and was a former member of the Free Masons.
Surviving in addition to his parents are sons, Joshua Levi Dubs of Taneytown, and Nathan Andrew Dubs of Waynesboro, PA; sisters, Rose Lockard and husband Jesse of Westminster, Bobbie Sue Barnhart and husband Brian of Hanover, PA, and Sandy Sumey and husband Allen of Hendersonville, TN; granddaughter, Adalynn Cecelia Dubs; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, November 12, 2015 at MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown, MD, 21787. A funeral service will follow at 8 p.m. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to help defray funeral expenses may be made to the funeral home at the above address.
