Phyllis Marlene Mitchell, age 70, of Taneytown, Maryland, died peacefully on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at the Golden Living Center Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Westminster.
Born January 4, 1943 in Frizzellburg, Maryland she was the daughter of the late Vincent Bart Cochran and Ida (Davis) Cochran. She was predeceased by her husband Ray Mitchell.
Phyllis worked for many years as a hostess and customer service rep for Sheetz in Taneytown. She enjoyed painting, drawing, and flower gardening. She especially enjoyed time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving are children, Yvette Pittinger and husband Thomas of Taneytown, Yvonne Emge of Baltimore, and David Mitchell and wife Michelle of Baltimore; grandchildren, Tiffany Hess and husband Shayne, Patricia Hill and fiancée Brad Boone, Tyler Pittinger, Alexa and Skylar Emge, and Masen Mitchell; great-grandchildren, Delaynie Hess and Wyatt Boone; sister, Myrna Ellis of Reisterstown.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Carmen Lopez.
The family will receive friends on Friday, May 17, 2013 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 91 Willis St., Westminster. Interment will be private. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
