Philip Eugene Martin, 75, of Littlestown, PA, passed away on Sunday, January 12, 2025, at Gettysburg Hospital. Born, February 19, 1949, in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania he was the beloved son the late Glenn Joseph and Catherine Louise Martin, nee Pence. Philip is the loving husband of Ruth Martin, nee Harvey his wife of 56 years; devoted father of Gwendolyn Anne DeVivo and her husband Vincent and Samuel Issac Martin and his wife Peggy; cherished grandfather Casey, Cooper, and Ashley and his step-grandchildren Megan and Jason; caring brother of Faye Copenhaver, Elaine Miles and her husband Ronald, Michael Martin and his wife Donna; brother-in-law of Linda Martin; and also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Ronald Martin.


Philip served as the Postmaster of the Libertytown United States Post Office before retirement. He was a proud veteran of the Army Reserves. In his free time, he enjoyed being an antique car enthusiast, spending time with many car clubs. He also enjoyed hunting and was a member of the NRA. Additionally, he enjoyed volunteering with his community.


The family will receive friends, 2-4 & 6-8 p.m., Thursday, January 23, 2025 and 10 to 11 a.m., Friday, January 24, 2025 at the MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, P.A., 136 East Baltimore Street, Taneytown (21787) where the funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Friday. Interment will follow the funeral service at Resthaven Memorial Gardens at 9501 Catoctin Mountain Hwy, Frederick (21701). In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Martin’s name to the Downrider Fund, www.downriderfund.org or the ASPCA, support.mdspca.org.
