Penny Dawn (Jonese' Carter) Franks

Penny Dawn Jonese’ Carter Franks, 71, of Westminster, Maryland went home to Jesus her Lord, on Sunday, March 14, 2021 at Carroll Hospice Dove House surrounded by her loving and devoted family.

Born June 4, 1949 in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Betty Lee Carter.  She was predeceased by her loving husband of 52 years, Andrew Jackson Franks, Sr.

Penny was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who always focused on her family and loved people unconditionally.  Her faith in Jesus, love of family and friends, and her pets guided her throughout her life.  She always remained positive and saw the silver-lining in every situation.  Full of strength and dignity till the end, her bright light will continue to shine thru her children and family.

Surviving are children, Andrew Jackson Franks, Jr. and wife Debbie of Spring Grove, PA, Tammy Dawn Franks of Westminster, Jack Carter Franks, Sr. and wife Sheryl of Reisterstown, and Betty LeAnn Rogers and husband Terry of Westminster; brother, Carter Trent Craig of Westminster; 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a niece and nephew; special cousins who were like siblings to her; and her favorite pet dog, “Lola” Franks.  Penny will be deeply missed by all who she touched and loved along the way.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Meadow Branch Church of the Brethren, 818 Old Taneytown Rd (Corner of Rt 140 & Royer Road) with Pastor Amy Bell officiating.  (Services will be live streamed at https://www.facebook.com/MDFHWestminster for those unable to attend).  A Celebration of Penny’s life will be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to your local humane society.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME in Westminster.
