Peggy Ann Eckenrode Koons, 61, of Taneytown died peacefully Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at Carroll Hospital Center in Westminster, MD. Born October 11, 1950 in Frederick County, MD, she was the daughter of the late John Henry and Bessie Mae Eckenrode. She was the wife of Robert Koons, her husband of 41 years.
Peggy was a customer service representative at Lowe’s in Westminster where she was employed for more than 18 years. She enjoyed camping, reading, and spending time with family and friends.
Surviving in addition to her husband are 2 sons, Kevin Koons and wife, Lisa, and Brian Koons and wife, Tonya, both of Fairfield, PA; daughter, Michelle Molock and husband, Thomas, of Westminster; brother, Kenneth Eckenrode and wife, Wendy, of Alabama; 3 grandchildren, Zachary, Andrew, and Bret Koons; and 3 nieces. She was predeceased by sister, Mary Elizabeth “Ginger” Brant.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, August 10, 2012 at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 East Baltimore St., Taneytown, MD, with Deacon Charles E. Barnhart, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Emmanuel Baust Cemetery in Tyrone. The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
