Pearl Louise Sell

Pearl Louise Sell, age 79, of Taneytown, Maryland, died peacefully on Thursday morning, July 16, 2009 in the comfort of her home surrounded by family and friends.
Born March 15, 1930 near Emmitsburg, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Percy James and Pauline Ruth (Becker) Bollinger. She was the loving and devoted wife of 47 years to Eugene Sell.
Pearl was a 1947 graduate of Taneytown High School. She was a bank teller with First National Bank and Taneytown Bank and Trust for 39 years, retiring in 1993. She was a life-long member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Taneytown, where she was active in the Sunday School as a former teacher and youth worker. She was a board member of the Social Ministry Committee, chaired Carpenter’s Table for many years, and served on the Alter Guild of the church. Pearl held the distinction of being selected as the first female juror in Carroll County.
Surviving in addition to her husband, are children, Timothy C. Sell and wife Jodi of Union Bridge, MD., Ronald E. Sell and wife Sharon of Glenville, PA., and daughter Amy L. Sell Renner of Taneytown, MD.; grandchildren, Danielle Renner, Luke, Bere, Ben, and Bassin Sell; great-grandson, Malachi Sell; brothers, Richard Bollinger of Ft. Myers, FL., Robert Bollinger of Taneytown, MD., Lester Bollinger of Rockville, MD., and Maurice Bollinger of Lake City, FL; sisters, Doris Crouse of Taneytown, MD., and Evelyn Newlin of Frederick MD.
Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by brothers, Glenn and Donald Bollinger.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM, on Monday, July 20, 2009 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 38 W. Baltimore St., Taneytown, with Rev. Gordon Narvesen and Deacon Charles E. Barnhart, Jr. co-officiating. Private interment will be in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Taneytown. The family will receive friends immediately following the services in the fellowship hall of the church.
