Paul Eugene Ebaugh, age 98, of Taneytown, formerly of Hanover, PA, died on Monday January 3, 2011 at home.
Born January 25, 1912 in Carrollton, Maryland he was the son of the late Chester Allen and Estella Hattie (Reese) Ebaugh. He was predeceased by his 1st wife, Thelma Roberta (Long) Ebaugh in 1976 and by his 2nd wife, Harvine Virginia (Myers) Ebaugh in 2009.
Paul was a veteran of WWII, serving in the U.S. Army in the European Theater with the 746th Railroad Operating Batalion. He was retired in 1974 as an engineer with the Western Maryland Railroad.
Surviving are son, Carl Eugene Ebaugh and wife Barbara of Taneytown; step-son, Joseph Allen Ebaugh and wife Katherine of Westminster; step-daughter, Beverly Warehime of Kansas City, Missouri; grandchildren, Lt. Col. Kurt G. Ebaugh and wife Shannon of Naples, Italy, Heike E. Mills and husband Todd of Claysville, PA; great-grandsons, Jurek and Nathaniel Mills, and Gibson Ebaugh; 5 step-grandchildren, 4 step-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was pre-deceased by sisters, Ruth Seipp, Freedom “Freda” Petry, Beulah Eck; and brothers, Gilbert and John Clark Ebaugh.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, on Friday, January 7, 2011 at the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 91Willis St., Westminster, MD with Deacon Charles E. Barnhart, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in St. Johns (Leister’s) Lutheran Cemetery in Westminster. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
