Patricia “Pat” Ann Schissler, age 68, of Taneytown, Maryland, formerly of Bel Air, Maryland, died peacefully on Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at Carroll Hospice Dove House in Westminster.
Born December 4, 1941 in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late James T. and Ivah Forrest (Fowler) Sturgill. She is survived by her husband of 49 ½ years, Donald R. Schissler.
Pat was a home health care nurse for many years. She and her husband loved traveling and sight-seeing, especially visiting the ocean. She was a past worthy matron Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 83, Bel Air, MD. Pat loved bowling, gambling, and BINGO.
Surviving in addition to her husband are children, Dawn Renae Schissler of Lakewood, Colorado, Tricia Lynn Dailey of Longmont, Colorado, Robert Dale Schissler and wife Kathy of Cary, N.C.; 4 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by an infant daughter, Kimberly Joy Schissler.
The family will receive friends on Friday, January 15 from 6-8 PM at the Myers-Durboraw Funeral 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown, where an Eastern Star Memorial Service will be held at 8:00 PM, and on Saturday from 11 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM, from the McComas Funeral Home, 50 W. Broadway, Bel Air, Maryland, with the Rev. Barry Hidey officiating. Interment will follow in the Bel Air Memorial Gardens in Bel Air.
