Patricia "Pat" (Wetzel) Miller

Alma Patricia “Pat” Miller, 85, of Emmitsburg, Maryland died peacefully Monday, November 10, 2014 at St. Catherine Nursing Center in Emmitsburg.  Born May 8, 1929 in Thurmont, she was the daughter of the late Bernard and Nellie Topper Wetzel.  She was the wife of the late Roy Miller, to whom she was married for 39 years.  He died in 1987.

Pat worked at the Freeman Shoe Factory in Emmitsburg for 25 years.  She was also employed by the shoe factory in Thurmont.  She was a member of St. Anthony Shrine Parish in Emmitsburg.  She enjoyed crocheting, collecting hummingbird and angel figurines, and sitting on the front porch.  She loved spending time with her family.

Surviving are daughters, Connie Ohler and husband Guy of Emmitsburg, Arlene Buckley and husband Maurice of Taneytown, and Karen Mills of Emmitsburg; sons, Larry Miller and wife Amy of Gettysburg, PA, and Randy Miller and wife Jeannette of Emmitsburg; sisters, Louise Shriner of Fairfield, PA, Doris Glass and husband Jimmy of Emmitsburg, and H. Regina Dillman and husband William of Abbottstown, PA; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by daughter, Janet Pratt; granddaughter, Jacqueline Pratt; grandson, John Ohler; sisters, Rita Cool, Mary Cool, and Margaret Miller; and brother, John Wetzel.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, November 15 at St. Anthony Shrine Parish, 16150 St. Anthony Rd, Emmitsburg, MD with the Rev. Lawrence Donohoo as celebrant.  Inurnment will follow at New St. Joseph Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the mass.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Anthony Shrine Parish, 16150 St. Anthony Rd., Emmitsburg, MD, 21727.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home in Emmitsburg.
