Patricia Mauro Cillo, age 64, of Emmitsburg, Maryland, died suddenly along with her husband, as a result of being struck by an automobile while leaving Mass at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Emmitsburg on Sunday, August 8, 2010.
Born February 8, 1946 in Brooklyn, New York, she was the daughter of Marian (Cafiero) DeRosa of Emmitsburg, and the late Humbert DeRosa. She was the loving wife of 22 years to the late John A. Cillo who died on Sunday, August 8, 2010 at Shock Trauma in Baltimore.
She attended Mass at both St. Rita’s Catholic Church in Blue Ridge Summit, PA, and St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Emmitsburg. Pat was an active volunteer at the Catoctin Pregnancy Center in Emmitsburg and at St. Rita’s Parish.
Surviving in addition to her mother, are children, Christine Harmanoglu and husband Ali of Hollywood, Fl., and Richard Mauro and wife Alison of Jacksonville, Fl.; grandsons, Nick, Max, Luke, Joshua, and Jacob.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for both her and her husband, at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, August 13, 2010 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 47 DePaul St., Emmitsburg with the Rev. Vincent J. O’Malley, C.M. as celebrant. Interment will follow in Mount St. Mary’s Cemetery in Emmitsburg. The family will receive friends on both Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. and Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 210 West Main St., Emmitsburg, MD, where Rosary prayers will begin at 8 p.m. on Thursday.
