Patience Anna “Patsy” Wormcke, 89, of Westminster died peacefully March 20, 2014 at her residence. Born October 4, 1924 in Washington, D.C., she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Susan (Murphy) Ross. She was the wife of the late Frederick Wormcke.
Patsy was secretary to the commissioner at the Federal Trade Commission in Washington, D.C. where she spent her entire career. She enjoyed home decorating, photography, flower gardening, arranging cut flowers, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. She was a member of Gunton Temple Presbysterian Church in Washington, D.C.
Surviving are sisters, Katherine “Betsy” Lewis of Westminster, and Dorothy McAleer of Hanover; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and even some great-great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sister, Susan Margaret Panek.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 24 at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 91 Willis Street, Westminster, MD. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park in Rockville. The family will receive friends 4-6 p.m. Sunday, and from 10 a.m. until the time of the service Monday at the funeral home.
