Norwood Earl Tatum, Sr.

May 26, 1930 — August 9, 2017

Norwood Earl Tatum, Sr., 87, of Union Bridge, Maryland, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at Carroll Hospice Dove House.

Born May 26, 1930 in Richmond, Virginia, he was the son of the late William P. Tatum and Grace Jeanette (Harris) Tatum Edwards.  He was predeceased by his wife of 63 years, Elizabeth Clara (Newland) Tatum in November 2016.

Earl loved tractor trailer truck driving for most of his career, and was a retired member of the local Teamsters union.

Surviving are son, Norwood Earl Tatum, Jr. and wife Denise of Littlestown, PA; daughters, Balinda Virginia Green of Manchester, and Brenda Grace Davidson and husband Richard of Littlestown; grandchildren, Joshua Tatum, Jessica Baeuerlien and husband Chris, Ryan Tatum and wife Amy, William Green and wife Gabrielle, Juliana Szczepanik and husband Nathan, Angela O’Brien and husband George, Ricky Davidson, and Amber Davidson; 10 great-grandchildren; brother, Gene Tatum of Virginia; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by brother, Rev. William Tatum; sister, Shirley Pearman, and son-in-law, William H. Green.

A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at the MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, 91 Willis Street, Westminster with Pastor Tom Cantville officiating.  Interment will follow in the Pipe Creek Cemetery near Linwood.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 6-8 p.m.
