Norman Schaffer, 86, of Westminster, died Thursday evening, December 29, 2016 at Carroll Hospital Center. Born December 24, 1930 in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Isadore A. and Sara (Feinstein) Schaffer. He was the husband of Genevieve R. “Jenny” (Marshall) Schaffer for 57 years.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and served during the Korean War. He was a Salesman for Heritage Subaru prior to his retirement and volunteered at Carroll Hospital Center Emergency Department for more than 12 years. He enjoyed reading, working crossword puzzles, visiting Williamsburg and spending time with his wife and family. Norman always had a joke to share and enjoyed watching sports, especially the Baltimore Colts and Ravens.
Surviving him in addition to his wife is a daughter and her husband, Sheri and Charles Schroyer of Woodbine; Sister, Irene Scherr of Pikesville; grandchildren, David Stroh and Phillip (Rachel) Stroh, all of Woodbine; 1 great-grandchild “on the way” and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Eleanor and a brother, Donald.
Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to the MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME in Westminster.
