Norman Ephryen Keeney, Sr., age 87, of Westminster, died Sunday evening, January 9, 2011 at Carroll Hospice Dove House.
Born November 16, 1923 in Walkersville, he was the son of the late Norman D. and Vergie Baugher Keeney. He was the husband of Bonnie Mathias Keeney, his wife of 22 years.
Norman retired from Crown American Corp in 1995 and was a Supervisor at North Hanover Mall. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and spending time with his grandchildren.
Surviving him in addition to his wife are children, Norman E. “Butch” Keeney, Jr. and wife Nancy of Westminster and Sherry L. Keeney of Davie, FL; step-sons, Shawn M. Klunk and wife Idonia and Keith R. Klunk and wife Lacy, all of Hanover, PA; siblings, Oscar “Jeff” Keeney of Westminster, Earl “Jim” Keeney of West Virginia, and George Keeney of New Windsor; grandchildren Jamie and Crystal Keeney of Westminster; step-grandchildren, Keith Klunk, Jr. of Glen Burnie and Alaina, Nathan and Jarrett Klunk of Hanover, PA; great-grandchildren, Jasmine Keeney, Amber and Brianna Keeney-Myers, Kayla Montgomery, James Stultz III and Victoria Keeney-Gromes; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by siblings, William and John Keeney, Helen Utz, Lillian Utz, and Rosey Warner.
A funeral service will be held at 8:00 PM on Thursday, January 13, 2011 at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 91 Willis Street, Westminster with his nephew, Reverend Frank Warner, officiating. Inurnment in Marburg Memorial Gardens in Hanover, PA will be held at a later date.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 2-4 and 6:00 until the time of the service at the funeral home.
