Norma L. Poland, age 80, of Hanover, PA, formerly of Reisterstown, Maryland, died on Friday, May 4, 2012 at the Golden Living Center in Gettysburg, PA.
Born August 26, 1931 in Lonaconing, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Stella (Gallagher) Walters. She was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Marshall William Poland in 2011.
Norma was a bookkeeper in the banking industry and worked for Commercial Credit in Baltimore. She was of the Catholic faith and attended Sacred Heart in Glyndon and Annunciation in McSherrystown.
Surviving are a son, Thomas M. Poland and wife Mary of Westminster, MD, and daughter, Donna L. Troyer and husband Calvin of Hanover, PA; grandchildren, Eric K. Poland, Robin N. Peterman, and Chad M. Troyer; 7 great-grandchildren; sister, Jean Johnson of Cumberland, MD.
A Prayer service will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 91 Willis St., Westminster with Rev. Lawrence Sherdel officiating. Interment will follow in Lake View Memorial Park in Sykesville, MD. The family will receive friends on Monday from 6-8 PM and on Tuesday from 9 AM until the time of service at the funeral home.
