Norma Lee Monthley, age 83, of Gettysburg, PA died Thursday, March 1, 2012 at the Gettysburg Lutheran Nursing Center. Born March 9, 1928 at Deal Island, MD, she was the daughter of the late Jabez & Mollie Abbott Webster. She was the wife of the late John E. Monthley who died January 26, 1983.
Norma was a housewife & homemaker. She was a member of Piney Creek Church of the Brethren in Taneytown, MD. She enjoyed church activities, gardening, and spending time with family.
Surviving are sons, John E Monthley, III of Abbottstown, PA, Charles W. “Billy” Monthley & wife, Lisa, of Union Bridge, Daniel T. Monthley & wife, Helene, of Boalsburg, PA, and Thomas E. Monthley of Owings Mills; and grandchildren, Teal Perez, Brad Monthley and Dana Mangus.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown, MD with the Rev. Stan Diehl of Piney Creek Church of the Brethren officiating. Interment will follow at Deal Island Cemetery at Deal Island, MD. The family will receive friends 3-5 & 7-9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
