Nora Bell Wilt, age 99, of Taneytown, MD died Thursday, May 22, 2008 at Carroll Hospital Center in Westminster.

Born February 15, 1909 in Carroll County, she was the daughter of the late Adam O. and Carrie B. (Six) Heiner. She was the wife of the late Howard D. Wilt, Sr. who died in 1968.
She worked for several years for Woolworth Co. in Westminster. She was mainly a farmers wife and homemaker, and enjoyed gardening. She was a life member of St. Matthew’s U.C.C. in Pleasant Valley.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Gloria & Richard Bentz of Westminster; a son, Marvin Wilt, Sr. of Taneytown; one sister, Anna Erb, of Taneytown, grandchildren Marvin Wilt, Jr., Leroy Wilt, Roger Bare, Sandy Bare and Richard Bare, and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by sons Donald Wilt and Howard Wilt, Jr.; sisters Mary Miller, Carrie Stitely, Vallie Myers and Ruth Hawk; and brothers William, Vernon “Floyd”, and Norman Heiner.

A funeral service will be held 11am Tuesday, May 27 at the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown, MD. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
