Nellie Marie Pomraning, 92, of Ellicott City, Maryland died Friday, December 13, 2013 at Ivy Manor Normandy in Ellicott City. Born March 28, 1921 in Bridgeton, PA, she was the daughter of the late James and Mary Orwig Meek. She was the wife of the late Reuben Trout Pomraning.
Marie was a seamstress and hairdresser. She became a supervisor at Lee Uniform and Cap Manufacturing Company where she worked for thirty years. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, and spending time with family. She especially enjoyed attending family reunions. She had been a very active member of Landsdowne United Methodist Church.
Surviving are one sister, Thelma Stewart of Spartan, TN, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sisters, Mary Cook and Edna Jamison, and brothers, Milton and Harry Meek.
A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at Meadowridge Memorial Park, 7250 Washington Blvd, Elkridge, MD. Memorial contributions may be made to Lansdowne United Methodist Church, 114 Laverne Ave, Baltimore, MD, 21227. Arrangements have been entrusted to Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home in Taneytown.
