Naomi May Marsh, 83, of Taneytown, MD, died peacefully on Friday, August 13, 2021 at her home. Born March 24, 1938 in Pleasant Valley, MD, she was the daughter of the late William Franklin Stair, Jr. and the late Elizabeth May (Wantz) Sheely. She was the devoted wife of the late Claude Lee Marsh, to whom she was married for 60 years. He passed on June 27, 2020.
Naomi worked at the Pleasant Valley Shoe Factory and the Westminster Shoe Factory for many years. She attended the former New Windsor Church of God. She enjoyed playing guitar and singing at church, taking care of her grandchildren, bird watching, canning, and watching sports. She was a fan of the Baltimore Orioles.
Surviving are her three daughters, Shirley Weaver and husband Skip of Fayetteville, PA, Karen Bentz and husband Ron of Taneytown, and Wanda Topper and husband John of Littlestown, PA; sisters, Joyce Stem, Gladys Harmon, and Peggy Jones, all of Westminster; brother, Robert Stem Sr. of Taneytown; 5 grandchildren, Jesse, Brandon (Katie), Brooke, Bryce, and Kirsten; 3 great-grandchildren, Madison, Addilee, and Brandon, Jr.; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband Claude, she was predeceased by a brother, Henry Wantz, and a sister, Joan Shaffer.
A funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, 91 Willis St., Westminster, MD with Pastor Rick Wyatt officiating. For those unable to attend, the service will be live-streamed at https://www.facebook.com/MDFHWestminster. Burial will follow at Pleasant Valley Cemetery. The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Monday, August 16th at the funeral home.
