Nancy E. Paul (Brandjes), age 83, of Taneytown, died on Monday, April 17, 2023 at Lorien Taneytown. Born April 13, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Emmogene (Leeson) Brandjes. She was the wife of the late Richard K. Paul. They were married for over 50 years before his passing in 2017.
Nancy was a beloved wife, mother and friend to many. Nancy had a love for all music. A professional singer, she was a proud member of the Dundalk Chapter of the Sweet Adelines for over 20 years. She performed on the Bay Lady where she made many lifelong friends. While she was able, Nancy loved having friends over for parties and singing in her home. She enjoyed playing guitar, ukulele, dancing and singing karaoke. A true lover of being in the water and swimming, or sometimes she would say ‘Adult Stand Time’ in the water made her happy. Nancy enjoyed her card games, Scrabble and Rummikub. However, her greatest joy was anytime she could spend with her family.
Surviving are daughters, Susan Arrington and husband Wayne of Skyesville, MD, Elizabeth “Beth” Noss and husband Jason of Taneytown, MD; daughter in law, Cathy Paul of Greencastle, PA; brother, Michael Brandjes of Buffalo, NY; grandchildren, Steve Paul and wife Angelique of Crofton, MD, Laura Hnatkowicz and husband Randy of York, PA, David Paul and wife Liz of Clarksville, TN; great grandchildren, Owen, Noah, Madeline, Ben, Genevieve, Jackson, Anna and Charlie. Nancy was predeceased by her parents and beloved husband; son Richard “Rick” Paul and brother, Nick Brandjes.
The family will receive friends for a time of memorial gathering on Tuesday, April 25, 2023 11am-12pm at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 38 W. Baltimore Street, Taneytown, MD 21787. A memorial service will be held at 12pm in the church sanctuary, with the Rev. Christopher Frigm officiating. Burial will be private at a later date.
