Nancy Baker Gonder, 75, of Taneytown, MD died Saturday, October 6, 2012 at Gilchrist Hospice Center in Towson. Born April 16, 1937 in Taneytown, she was the daughter of the late Franklin and Mildred Deberry Baker. She was the wife of the late John F. Gonder, Jr., her husband of 40 years.
Nancy worked in the accounting department of the Cambridge Rubber Company in Taneytown and Ingersoll-Dressing Pump Company, also in Taneytown. She was a member of Grace United Church of Christ, the Taneytown American Legion Hesson Snyder Post 120 Ladies Auxiliary, and the Harney VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed traveling, cooking, playing bingo, and spending time with friends and family, especially her grandchildren.
Surviving are son, Tim Gonder and wife, Claire, of Timonium; and grandchildren, Paige and Wyatt Gonder.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, October 12 at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown, MD, with the Rev. Steven Ostendorf-Snell officiating. Interment will follow at Grace UCC Cemetery. The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
