Myrtle Mae Michael, 84 of Westminster, a resident at Locust House, died suddenly Tuesday March 30, 2010 at University of Maryland Medical Center Shock Trauma. She was born July 12, 1925 in Sparta, North Carolina the daughter of Ella Walker Atwood. She was the former spouse of the late John A. Michael, Jr. She sold produce locally in Millers, MD. She loved spending time with her family, especially at holiday time.
She is survived by her children, Susan Mae Michael and her long-time companion Carl Viers of Hampstead, John and Becky Michael of Warner Robbins, GA, Rodney and Cynthia Michael of Heartland, WI, and Linda Michael Matthews of Hampstead; grandchildren and spouses, Timothy & Michelle Michael of Shippensburg, PA, Tammy & Lee Porter of New Windsor, MD, Robert & Melissa Michael of Upperco, R. Kevin & Laura Michael of Littlestown, PA, Regina & Mark Simmons of Westminster, MD, Kyle & Misti Michael of Gulfport, MS, Jennifer Michael Zion of Warner Robbins, GA, Michael & Stephanie Gillispie of Tuscaloosa AL, R. Christine Gillispie Maglione of Westminster, Kinsey Matthews of Westminster and Schuyler, Ashleigh and Jake Michael all of Wisconsin; also survived by 29 great grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by 11 brothers and life-long companion of 25 years, Walter Merryman.
A funeral service will be held Saturday 1:00 P.M. at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 91 Willis Street, Westminster with Rev. Barbara Ann Matthai officiating. Interment will follow in Hampstead Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Friday 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 pm and Saturday 12 pm until time of service at the funeral home.
