Monroe “Bud” Gehr Haines, Sr., age 92, of Westminster, Maryland, died peacefully on Saturday, February 7, 2015 at the Carroll Hospice Dove House.
Born July 23, 1922 in White Hall, Maryland, he was the son of the late Denton Gehr and Hannah Marie (Harn) Haines.  He was predeceased by his wife, Mildred Rosalie (Zepp) Haines in 2001.
Monroe worked as a distributor for Coca-Cola Co. and later measured wheat acres for the federal government.  He also built truck bodies and was a mechanic for Melvin Zepp.  He retired from BG&E as a sheet metal fabricator.  He enjoyed roller-skating with his wife, and attending truck shows and riding in trucks with his son Al.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Surviving are son, Allan “Al” L. Haines and wife Rebecca “Becky” of Westminster; grandchildren, Jessica Haines Block, Allan Haines, Jr., Paula Haines Shull, Rick Haines, and Gina Hernandez; 14 great-grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy “Dot” Bauerlien of Westminster and Mary Ruth Forsythe of MD; sister-in-law, Myrle Hughes of Westminster.
He was predeceased by a son, Monroe “Monnie” Haines, and by 5 siblings.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 from 11 a.m. until the time of a Funeral Service at 1 p.m. at the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 91 Willis St, Westminster, MD.  Burial will follow in Meadow Branch Cemetery in Westminster.
