Mitzi E. Laughman, age 53, of Taneytown, Maryland, died peacefully on Thursday, February 19, 2015 at Frederick Memorial Hospital.
Born January 24, 1962 in Frederick, Maryland, she was the daughter of Edward “Ed” T. and Betty “Becky” J. (Stitley) Matthews of Taneytown. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband David A. Laughman.
Mitzi dearly loved spending time with her family and her dog “Honey Bear”. She was a member of Grace United Church of Christ in Taneytown.
Surviving in addition to her parents and husband are sons, Derek Guthrie and wife Alee of Taneytown, Tanner Laughman and Coby Laughman both of Taneytown; sister, Tammy Weant and husband Terry of Westminster; brother, Tony Matthews and wife Shannon of Taneytown; nieces and nephews, Carrie Weant, Tyler Weant and fiancée Melissa Bentley, Hailey, Grant, and Dalton Matthews; step-nieces, Emma and Olivia Voegtli; grand-niece and nephew, Caden and Jaxon Zepf.
The family will receive friends on Monday, February 23, 2015 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Grace United Church of Christ in Taneytown. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at Grace United Church of Christ in Taneytown with Rev. Steven Ostendorf officiating. Interment will follow in the Grace U.C.C. Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Grace U.C.C., 49 W. Baltimore St., Taneytown, MD 21787 or to the American Cancer Society, Tribute Giving, 8400 Silver Crossing, Oklahoma City, OK, 73132. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home in Taneytown.
